Online Investigation Course

The whole field, fast. A two-week, instructor-led crash course that opens the door to every major specialty in modern private investigation — from your own desk.

Online Investigation Course training

This is the quickest way to understand what investigators actually do — and to decide where you want to specialize. Over two weeks you move through five focused modules, each paired with practical examples and open-book checkpoints, plus four live Zoom sessions where you work directly with the instructor and ask real questions.

What you'll learn

  • Background investigations — building a complete, accurate picture of a person or business from public and proprietary sources.
  • Surveillance fundamentals — planning, positioning, documentation and the discipline that keeps you unseen.
  • OSINT & social-media investigation — open-source intelligence, digital footprints and verification.
  • Surveillance & counter-surveillance equipment — covert cameras, trackers and the gear of the trade.
  • TSCM bug-sweeps — an introduction to technical surveillance counter-measures and how sweeps are run.
  • Undercover & pretext basics — lawful approaches to information-gathering and the ethics that govern them.
  • Domestic & infidelity cases — handling sensitive matters professionally and safely.
  • Corporate & civil work — fraud, due diligence and litigation support.
  • Client interaction & ethics — intake, expectations, reporting and staying on the right side of the law.

How it runs

Each module unlocks in sequence with video instruction you take at your own pace, then comes together in the live sessions — two per week. Most module tests are open-book; a comprehensive final wraps the course. Finish, and your certificate of completion is issued and mailed to you.

Who it's for

Aspiring investigators, business owners and executives who want to protect themselves, attorneys and corporate teams, and anyone drawn to the work — no prior experience required, and every background is welcome.
